CA seeks auditor for thin SIM

The Communications Authority of Kenya is seeking a consultant to audit the thin SIM card technology, which it approved for roll-out by Equity Bank's subsidiary for a one-year trial period. In a call for expressions of interest, CA said live investigations will be carried out on the security features between thin SIM cards and primary SIM cards on which they are to be overlaid. CA said the consultant, local or foreign, will evaluate performance and security features of the SIM cards, including interaction between the two SIM types which will share the same slot.
