Cable/fibre passes DSL on UK broadband market

The UK has reached more broadband connections over cable and fibre than DSL for the first time, according to Q1 figures from Point Topic. Active DSL connections fell to 12.81 million, while customers using the cable modems of Virgin Media and WightFibre passed the 5 million mark, and FTTC/FTTP lines grew to an estimated 7.86 million at the end of March.
