Cablex starts installing indoor 5G in Swisscom shops, Lucerne station

Friday 12 June 2020 | 09:31 CET | News
Swiss firm Cablex said it has started to operate the first 5G indoor installations in Swisscom shops and the railway station in Lucerne. In Lucerne, a 5G hotspot on the NR35 band (New Radio, 3500 MHz) was set up at the station. Swisscom uses a 100 MHz bandwidth, which results in data transfer five times faster than 4G. The company has measured data throughput of 1.17 Gbps over the 5G hotspot at Lucerne station. With mobile phones, speed will increase up to 10 Gbps.
