Cadence Design Systems to acquire Jasper Design Automation

Global electronic design company, Cadence Design Systems has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Jasper Design Automation, a provider of formal analysis services, for approximately USD 170 million in cash. Jasper had approximately USD 24 million of cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments as of 31 December 2013. The addition of Jasper will expand the differentiation of Cadence Design Systems' verification platform and will be tightly integrated with Cadence's common debug analysis, formal and semi-formal services, simulation, acceleration, emulation and prototyping
