Calix announces E3-8G node-based optical line terminal

Gigabit fibre equipment company Calix has announced the E3-8G node-based optical line terminal (OLT) as the newest member of its E-Series portfolio. The node is optimised to allow cable operators to cost-effectively deliver symmetrical gigabit services now, while preparing for 10 Gbps and multi-wavelength based PON services in the future. Calix has also introduced the 856G GigaCenter, a premises service delivery station that supports MoCA 2.0, a variety of services and resident/cloud-based applications, and carrier class Wi-Fi.
