Calls for Mexican regulator to review pay-TV market analysis

Tuesday 22 March 2016 | 18:09 CET | News
The Mexican Association of Access to Information (Amedi) has requested that the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) review its decision establishing that Televisa Group does not have substantial power in the pay-TV market. It has also suggested that the local and regional characteristic of pay-TV networks are taken into account. Amedi claims that the regulator "has ignored local and regional TV networks, giving them, instead, national treatment, when cable TV networks do not have that feature".
