Cambodia mobile phone subscriber base drops nearly 12%

Monday 18 July 2016 | 13:20 CET | News
The number of mobile phone subscribers in Cambodia has declined by 11.5 percent over the last year. According to regulators, the decline is due to a rebalancing after the market reached a saturation point of over 100 percent penetration, the Phnom Penh Post reports. "Market demand was fully satisfied, as it reached its peak, so it was not surprising to see the number of subscribers decrease a bit", said Im Vutha, director of the regulation at Telecom Regulator of Cambodia (TRC).
