Cambridge to deploy fixed wireless in NYC over 28 GHz band

Tuesday 21 February 2017 | 16:50 CET | News
Cambridge Broadband Networks announced a contract to deploy its VectaStar platform for point-to-multipoint communications in New York City, in what it says is the world's first gigabit commercial fixed wireless links at 28GHz. The new VectaStar 1200 platform uses channel bonding to upgrade existing VectaStar network links to deliver up to 1.2Gbps at 99.99 percent availability for up to 2.2 miles. In addition, VectaStar 1200 offers redundancy and high levels of spectrum reuse, CBN said, maximizing the number of sites that can be backhauled in the spectrum.
