Canadian auditor-general says govt not doing enough to expand rural broadband

Canada's auditor general has issued a report criticising the government's broadband strategy, saying it has not done enough to bring high-speed internet to rural and remote areas. The main problems identified were a lack of national broadband plan, inefficient application of the 'Connect to Innovate' subsidies and not enough spectrum for small ISPs looking to bring wireless service to remote areas.
