Canadian regulator to keep lower wholesale rates for broadband

Monday 17 August 2020 | 17:23 CET | News
The reductions affect both components of wholesale rates (capacity and access). The monthly capacity rates are 15 to 43 percent lower than the interim rates set in 2016, while the drops range from 3 and 77 percent for access rates. The ruling from 2019 came under fire from major telecom operators but the CRTC said the final wholesale rates will facilitate greater competition and promote innovative broadband services and affordable prices for consumers.
