Canadian service providers deploy Stir/Shaken caller ID authentication protocol

Telecom service providers in Canada must now certify caller identities using Stir/Shaken, a system used to combat spoofed calls that has now been introduced in the country, regulator CRTC announced. With caller ID spoofing, nuisance and fraudulent calls can be made, masking the identity of the caller.
