Canadian telecom revenue growth to slow to 2.3% this year

Canadian telecom industry revenues are forecast to grow by only 2.3 percent this year, the smallest increase since the 2009 recession, due to sharp price increases, changing consumption habits and a slower economy, according to the Conference Board of Canada. The telecom price index rose by nearly 5 percent in 2014, driven by mobile service price increases, and is likely to remain strong at 3.7 percent due to the carryover effect of the previous year.
