Canal+ and LFP find solution to Ligue 1 broadcast dispute

The French Professional Football League (LFP, Ligue de Football Professionnel) announced to have signed an agreement with Canal Plus over the broadcasting schedule of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 matches. The deal, which covers the 2016-2020 period, puts an end to a dispute arising from the decision by Canal Plus to air certain matches on its Canal+ Sport channel. According to press reports, the LFP has given Canal Plus' new broadcasting schedule the green light in return for a financial arrangement which will see the French football governing body receive additional revenues calculated on the basis
