Friday 1 February 2013 | 08:59 CET | News
Canal Plus has secured French broadcasting rights for English Premier League matches for three seasons starting in August. The French pay TV group won the tender by significantly increasing its offer compared to last time, when it paid EUR 75 million for three years. Canal Plus said in a press statement that the Barclays Premier League is the world's most watched football league. The company's competitor for sports events in France is market entrant Al-Jazeera's BeIN Sport.
