Tuesday 10 December 2013 | 15:10 CET | News
France's Canal Plus is starting its own incubator for start-ups, called CanalStart. The incubator is open to start-ups from any country and active in the media sector. In particular, CanalStart is targeting companies working on connected devices and services, such as interactive video and video recommendations, customer retention, social networking and mobile applications.

Interested participants can apply over the Canalstart.com website, and a committee of experienced investors and entrepreneurs from the audiovisual sector will evaluate the candidates. Those selected will offer a high level of innovation and dynamism and quick time to market for developing their services. CanalStart will provide customised guidance in industrial, commercial and financial development for the start-ups, through a range of partnerships with its sister companies in the Canal Plus Group. The official launch of the incubator will take place at the Le Web conference in Paris 10-12 December.
