Canal Plus, French rugby league sign TV, mobile rights deal

French pay TV operator Canal Plus has signed a EUR 158.5 million, five-year contract with the French professional rugby league (2011/12 to 2015/16) for the 1st division league, or "Le Top 14". Canal Plus group will broadcast at least three pre-recorded matches on every Top 14 day, one on the Canal Plus channel and two on Canal Plus Sport. The other four games that day will be air on the Rugby Plus channel. Highlights of all seven tests will feature in the "Jour du Rugby" TV show on Canal Plus and the programme "Les Specialistes".
