Canal Plus seeks football rights payment suspension in France

Canal Plus has addressed a letter to the French football league LFP justifying its decision to suspend a EUR 110 million instalment for its Ligue 1 broadcasting rights, reports L'Equipe. The move has been prompted by the cancellation of all matches due to the Covid-19 epidemic. In the letter, Canal Plus CEO Maxime Saada explains that the broadcaster has been forced to take measures to "limit the financial impact of the crisis".
