Canal Plus to launch pan-Arican TV channel

French pay TV operator Canal Plus has created a new pan-African channel called A+ to be carried on the CanalSat service in Africa from October. The channel aims to become the leading Francophone African channel, reflecting the continent's identities and specificities and to be turned towards the continent's future. Two-thirds of air time will consist of African and African-American TV series, feature films and TV movies, with the remainder to be magazine shows, reality TV and games.
