Capital One launches contactless payments on its Android app

Capital One announced that it is the first US bank to enable contactless mobile payment capability on its mobile app. An update to the Capital One Wallet app for Android uses the MasterCard Digital Enablement Service (MDES) and Visa Token Service (VTS) platforms to use their credit and debit cards directly from their phones to make contactless payments for in-store purchases. The new service supports NFC-enabled smartphones running Android 4.4 (Kit Kat) or higher.
