Carlisle homes benefit from Openreach FTTP broadband pilot

Tuesday 12 September 2017 | 18:49 CET | News
BT confirmed that 230 households on the Bracklenleigh estate in Carlisle are the first in the UK to benefit from an initiative that gives them ultrafast broadband speeds. Openreach is piloting a new way of installing 'full fibre' broadband lines on housing developments which builds over its existing copper broadband network. The new FTTP technology can deliver speeds of up to 1 Gbps for residents.
