Cartel Office approves Bundesliga marketing model

Monday 11 April 2016 | 16:00 CET | News
The German Federal Cartel Office approves the marketing model in which the League Association and the German Football League (DFL) committed for granting media rights for Bundesliga matches from the season 2017/18. In order to remove antitrust concerns, the League Association and DFL presented various voluntary obligations, especially a so-called a ban on being able to become the sole rights owner for all Bundesliga live games. The Cartel Office declared the voluntary obligations as legally binding.
