CAT mulls legal action over concession expiry plan

Thai state-owned communications carrier CAT Telecom is considering legal action against the telecommunications regulator over its decision to allow two concessionaires to continue serving 2G customers for one year. The board of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) recently approved a plan to allow TrueMove and Digital Phone Co (DPC) to take care of around 17 million customers during the one-year transition period after their concession contracts with CAT expire in September.
