Catania activates WiFi4EU hotspots with Linkem

The Sicilian city of Catania has activated free Wi-Fi hotspots for residents and tourists alike in 9 squares after receiving EUR 15,000 in funding from the EU, reports Mondo Mobile Web. The city council awarded the contract to install the hotspots to operator Linkem, which managed to complete the project in time in spite of the coronavirus lockdown and will also manage the access points over the next 3 years. Anyone can connect to the free Wi-Fi service in and around the city's Piazza Duomo, Piazza Stesicoro, Piazza Universita, Villa Bellini, Piazza Dante, Piazza Federico di Svevia, Piazza
