Catch-up viewing overtakes live TV in UK - survey

Catch-up TV viewing has overtaken live TV in the UK, according to a survey of 1,500 people commissioned for KPMG's latest Media Tracker. Some 42 percent of people said they watched catch-up TV, compared to 24 percent watching programmes as they are broadcast. TVs are the most common devices for catch-up viewing (53%), followed by desktops/laptops (33%), tablets (22%) and smartphones (10%). The survey also found that 77 percent of respondents had watched catch-up TV in the last month, with the proportion rising to 86 percent amongst 18-24 year-olds.
