CDU wants legal right to fast internet in Germany

The German party CDU has published a draft bill for a legal right to fast internet. In a report obtained by Sueddeutsche Zeitung, the CDU programme commission demands that "everyone can be part of the chances offered by the information society" and that companies "everywhere in Germany have access to fast internet" with broadband speeds of at least 50 Mbps. The CDU wants to make broadband available across the country by 2018. The legal right ensuring equal living conditions is due to be implemented within the next two years.
