South Africa operator Cell C has decided not to extend its promotion of voice calls at ZAR 0.50 per minute (billed per second), a spokesperson for the mobile network told MyBroadband. The operator first launched the promotion in July, reducing the call rate of its promotional ZAR 0.66 pre-paid tariff plan to ZAR 0.50 a minute. At the time, Cell C said that the promotion would run until 30 September and would be reviewed based on the outcome of the call termination rate regulations review. Cell C said the decision not to extend the promotion was "in part" due to the termination rates.
