Central Bank of Kenya faces protest over extension of free money transfers

Telecommunication companies and banks have protested against the Central Bank of Kenya's extension of free mobile money transactions without consulting them, Business Daily reported. They say the CBK should have sought their opinion before unilaterally extending relief measures on mobile phone payments by another six months, losing banks and telecom firms like Safaricom billions of shillings.
