CenturyLink fined USD 4 mln in Oregon for deceptive practices, overcharging

CenturyLink has agreed to pay USD 4 million to the state of Oregon, settling accusations it engaged in deceptive practices regarding its fees and practices. The office attorney general for the state said it received over 1,200 consumer complaints about the company since 2014 about deceptive advertising with door-to-door salespeople, deceptive billing practices, undisclosed fees, and failing to apply promised discounts to customer accounts.
