CFE transfers public network license to Telecomm

Mexico's state-owned electric utility Federal Electricity Commission (Comision Federal de Electricidad – CFE) has agreed to transfer its license to install, operate and exploit a public telecoms network to state-owned operator Telecomunicaciones de Mexico (Telecomm). CFE and Telecomm have signed a memorandum of understanding to transfer the resources and equipment needed for the network operation and use. CFE will maintain access to the fiber-optic infrastructure required for the transmission, distribution and generation of electricity. The agreement establishes the shared access to CFE's
