Chad gets fibre optic link to rest of world via Cameroon

Sitcom (Societe d'Infrastructures des Communications Electroniques du Tchad) said it has signed a fibre interconnection agreement with Cameroon's national operator, Camtel. This will connect Chad for the first time directly through fibre to the rest of the world. Additionally, Sitcom and Camtel will provide back-up services to one another on their fibre routes from North to South to improve network availability and uptime by both service providers.
