Chad seeks partners to develop fibre optic network

The government of Chad is looking for partners to develop a fibre optic network to boost telecommunication in the country, Xinhua reports. Minister for Posts and Information & Communication Technologies (PNTIC) Noel Yamta said the government's aim is to develop a national fibre optic network linked to submarine cables, at least one of them from the east through Sudan and another from the west through Nigeria. The Chadian government discussed the matter on 04 September with public and private operators in the telecommunication sector and financial donors.
