Channel 4 CEO defends existing model of operation

Channel 4 CEO David Abraham has used a speech to the Enders Analysis Conference to oppose UK government proposals to privatise the broadcaster. He defended the existing model under which Channel 4 operates, insisting that this continues to work well because the broadcaster keeps innovating. Abraham praised the good work of Channel 4 staff and stressed that the company was good for UK business. He warned that some of the broadcaster's work, such as C4 News, Paralympics coverage and their commitment to backing distinctive British films, would not survive in anywhere near their current form if
