UK broadcaster Channel 4 has launched a new training and development programme called 4Skills to find and develop talent in the Nations and Regions.

This new development programme is part of the company's 'All the UK' strategy and comes one year after opening its new National HQ in Leeds. It aims to attract people from diverse backgrounds into broadcasting and production, working to address key skills gaps.

Opportunities available through 4Skills include apprenticeships across Channel 4, with the first intake starting in Leeds and Manchester in early-2021; a new initiative focused on digital creativity and production with open days, workshops and paid placements; a school and college engagement and outreach programme; and a relaunch of the Production Training Scheme focusing on the nations and regions. Applications are now being accepted for 12 places on 4Skills apprenticeship schemes in Leeds and Manchester.
