Channel 4 talks to BT on Champions League rights - report

Thursday 23 February 2017 | 14:12 CET | News
Channel 4 has joined the bidding for the rights to show the Champions League in the UK, the Telegraph reports. The broadcaster is seeking rights to one match per week under the new three-year UK television contract that will be awarded next month, the paper's sources said. Sky Sports and BT Sport are also in the running and seek to acquire the majority of the rights. Channel 4 is reportedly in talks with BT to work together. BT would sublet some of the matches to Channel 4 if it succeeds in holding on to the rights to the league. Both companies declined to comment.
