Chile cuts mobile termination rates by 80%

The Chilean government has announced the approval of a decree reducing the mobile termination rate (MTR) payable by all MNOs by around 80 percent. The new MTR is the first change since 2014 and is likewise due to last 5 years. It slashes the rate from CLP 8.7 a minute to CLP 1.8 and will come into force as soon as the country's Comptroller General ratifies the decree.
