Chile looking to boost digital divide investment

Chile needs to double telecommunications investment if it's to bridge the existing digital divide, according to new minister of transport and telecommunications Gloria Hutt. Although sector investment has amounted to some USD 18 billion over the past 10 years, the minister urged all players to continue doing all they can to reduce the digital divide for the 44 percent of the population that still lacks fixed internet access.
