Chile will need to invest USD 12 billion to meet the objectives of the Digital Agenda, while a total of USD 26 billion will be required by 2025 to reach OECD standards, according to Roberto Gurovich, executive director of the telecom consulting firm G&A, reports Diario Financiero. Of this total, roughly half is for equipment, switches and network access, among other infrastructure. Gurovich also said that the telecom industry will continue investing at the same rate as it has done so far, investing nearly USD 9 billion between 2016 and 2020 and around USD 10 billion by 2025.
