Chile posts number porting record in March

A total of 9.7 million mobile and fixed numbers have been ported in Chile since the introduction of number portability in January 2012, according to the latest update from telecommunications regulator Subtel. In March a record total of 387,222 numbers were ported, some 60 percent more than a year earlier, 96 percent of which were mobile numbers. In terms of operators, Claro again posted the largest monthly net customer gain in March, attracting 56,365 new users compared to WOM's 42,716, Movistar's 9,536 and VTR's 5,554.
