Chile to use public lands for telecom network rollouts

Monday 8 October 2018 | 11:31 CET | News
Chilean telecommunications regulator Subtel has signed an agreement with the national assets ministry to make public lands more readily available for the deployment of network infrastructure. Under the terms of the deal signed in Puerto Williams, the national assets ministry will facilitate access to public lands for the rollout of fibre-optic networks and public buildings for the installation of mobile base stations. The ministry pledged to make available to Subtel information on bidding or leasing processes for land that telecommunications operators can use for infrastructure deployments.
