Saturday 15 February 2014 | 14:28 CET | News
Chilean cable operator VTR, a subsidiary of Liberty Global (UPC), plans to launch operations in Brazil in the first half of this year. The launch will be financed from the USD 1.4 billion bond issue recently completed by VTR, Economia y Negocios reports, citing unnamed sources close to the plans. Back in January, Liberty Global has set up a new Latin America unit incorporating its Chilean and Puerto Rican operations. The USD 1.4 billion bond issue is being used to create a financial structure for the new division as well as fund potential acquisitions in the region.
