Chile's Supreme Court upholds USD 2 mln DirecTV STB fine

Chile's Supreme Court has upheld a fine of around CLP 1.3 billion (USD 2 million) imposed on the Chilean unit of AT&T's DirecTV subsidiary by the energy and fuels superintendency for use of uncertified set-top boxes. The fine comes after an investigation revealed that one of DirecTV's decoders had allegedly overheated and caused a fire in the port city of Talcahuano in the Biobio region back in 2015.
