Chile's VTR tops LatAm fixed internet speed ranking with 85 Mbps

Chilean cable operator VTR, part of Liberty Latin America, once again posted the fastest fixed internet download speeds in Latin America, according to over 8 million tests conducted by nPerf in 17 countries throughout the region between January and December 2019. The operator achieved an average download speed of 84.75 Mbps, up from 58.08 Mbps in 2018, and well ahead of local rival Mundo Pacifico in second place with 71.37 Mbps. Panama's Cable Onda followed with 56.89 Mbps, while Brazil's Vivo and Chile's Movistar rounded out the top 5 with average speeds of 55.43 Mbps and 51.73 Mbps
