China Mobile begins upgrade to IPv6

China Mobile has begun upgrading its networks to IPv6 from IPv4, in line with the government's policies set down in the 12th five-year plan. China Mobile is upgrading four operational bases and ten operational platforms to IPv6. Furthermore, the company will require new TD-LTE terminal devices to support IPv6 from May this year, The Digitimes reports. The company aims to reach 3 million IPv6 subscribers by the end of this year. In 2014-15, China Mobile plans to upgrade all networks in eastern China and half of the networks in the central and western regions. Large-scale, commercial IPv6
