China Unicom, iQiyi to build joint R&D centre for 5G terminal devices

Chinese online video streaming platform iQiyi announced at MWC Shanghai that it reached a strategic partnership with China Unicom to open a joint R&D centre for the innovation and application of 5G in terminal devices. Besides jointly opening a 5G terminal R&D centre, both parties will partner on technology development, including 5G network slicing, 5G Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC), big data, MR/AR/VR, as well as 4K/8K UHDV.
