China's online ad revenues up to CNY 18 bln in Q1

Online advertising providers in China generated revenues of CNY 18 billion in Q1, down by 14.5 percent from the previous quarter but up 28.3 percent year-on-year. Keyword search accounted for 40.4 percent of total revenues, followed by brand images/text with 25.1 percent, video with 19.7 percent, and e-mail with 0.9 percent, the Digitimes writes citing an Analysys International report. Baidu led the market with a 31.8 percent share, followed by Taobao with a 15.5 percent share, and Google China with a market share of 5.8 percent.
