Chunghwa Telecom fined TWD 2 mln for Labor Standards Act violation

Taiwan's Labor Administration Bureau has imposed a fine of TWD 2 million on Chunghwa Telecom for the company's violation of the Labor Standards Act. Chunghwa Telecom reports that the Labor Department of Taipei City Government and the Labor Affairs Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government have carried out labor inspection on the company's employees' working hours, and imposed fines of TWD 2 million in total for violation of Article 32, Section 2 of the Labor Standards Act for the extension of labor' work hours. Chunghwa Telecom also said it will consider taking administrative remedy measures.
