Cisco eyes smart city, broadband projects in India

Cisco Systems wants to partner with the Indian government to support its smart cities development projects. Cisco is offering to provide the last-mile connectivity at villages under the national broadband project, which is the backbone for the Digital India programme. Cisco has already undertaken projects to convert over 80 cities across the world into smart cities, Pankaj Patel, Cisco's global head for engineering told ET.
