Cisco pledges to invest USD 4 bln in Mexico

Cisco is set to invest up to USD 4 billion in Mexico over the next two years and create 270 new direct jobs and 77 indirect jobs, according to a statement released by the office of Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto. The investment will be directed at boosting the manufacture of products such as routers, servers, switches, video-conferencing displays and wireless access points, said the statement, adding that some 4,830 direct employees in Mexico will be affected as a result.
