City Hall, operators at odds over Paris LTE rollout - report

Paris city hall and mobile operators are still at loggerheads over LTE base station deployment on public buildings due to residents' and Green city councilors' concerns over the safety of mobile network equipment electromagnetic emissions. A meeting to be held by the parties in mid-April was cancelled, according to press reports. While Orange France, SFR and Bouygues Telecom start rolling out LTE pilot networks in Marseille and Lyon, things are still at a stand-still in Paris. Liberation newspaper cites two reasons, a fall in service quality and oversaturation if the metropolitan authority
