Claro Colombia handed COP 950 mln fine for marketing breach

Claro Colombia, a subsidiary of America Movil, has received a COP 950 million fine from the country's Superintendency of Industry and Commerce (SIC) for improper use of the number portability database, reports local daily El Tiempo. Specifically, the watchdog accused the operator of using the database to make nearly 7.5 million unauthorised calls to users of rival operators between January 2020 and April 2021.
